How I got here

I grew up in small town rural New Zealand, and spent my childhood making, crafting, drawing, and building from any scrap of material that lay around. I knew I wanted to be an Architect from a very young age.

In 2017 I graduated with a Master in Architecture (Prof), and since then, have worked at a medium size practice across a variety of project types and scales. In 2021 I sat my registration and successfully became a New Zealand Registered Architect. Through working in practice, I have found my niche in the public and education sector, where there tend to be established, clear processes, and the end result has the ability to affect multiple people.

Giving back

Giving back to the profession is important to me. I have served three years on the Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects (NZIA) Board as the co-opted graduate and emerging practitioner director. This roll not only gave me insight into governance, but established valuable connections and enabled me to grow in knowledge and confidence. During my time as a director, my main focus was on building a nationwide connected network of architecture graduates, known as Emerge, which seeks to fill the often confusing gap between graduation and registration. I am proud to have been a pivotal part of this, and it was a great privilege to be recognised by NZIA past President, Judi Keith Brown, with a President's award in 2022.

Having now passed the leadership batten on, I still feel an urge to continue to build up and support those coming up behind me. I am happy to be a mentor and provide support to graduates navigating practice and their pathway to registration.
